  • Professor of Leadership and Organization at Witten/Herdecke University's Institute for Family Business. Current research focus on future survival issues for family businesses and, in particular, the special challenges that fast-growing family businesses face

Recent consulting activities

  • Support for companies undertaking a strategic repositioning and support for strategy implementation projects
  • Conception and realization of substantial organization-related change projects, providing support over several years until stabilization of the target situation, as in the case of mergers
  • Consulting for family businesses on generational changes and setting up new leadership structures, including appropriate corporate governance or in the strategic repositioning of these enterprises
  • Development and coaching of teams in top management levels
  • Establishment of and support for in-company consulting units and professionalization of consultants

Professional Background

  • Studied law and political science at the University of Vienna, followed by several years as a research assistant at the university
  • Habilitation (postdoctoral qualification) in the area of group dynamics and organizational development at the University of Klagenfurt
  • Co-founder of osb, Gesellschaft für systemische Organisationsberatung mbH, in Vienna
  • Appointed to the Chair of Leadership and Organization at the private Witten/Herdecke University's newly-founded Institute for Family Business; now apl. Professor at the Institute
  • Member of the Supervisory Board of various companies
